翰苑營嘉致,到來山意深。
會茶多野客,啼竹半沙禽。
雪溜懸危石,棊燈射遠林。
言詩素非苦,虛答侍臣心。

English

In the Hanlin world he cultivated elegant refinement,

on arrival, the mountain atmosphere proves deep.

Tea gatherings draw many rustic guests;

Birds cry among the bamboo; half are shore birds.

Snowmelt falls in trickles from lofty rocks;

The Go-lamp casts its light into distant woods.

Poetry is, by nature, no bitter labor;

in emptiness, the courtier’s heart is answered.
