片玉侵寒折,零文見斷蟲。
遠沉岡草際,半露塹冰中。
跡著人何在,年銷事已空。
唯聞壞陵栢,相弔起悲風。

English

Shard of jade, yielding to the seeping cold;

scattered characters reveal gnawed strokes.

On a distant hill, sunken at the wilderness' edge;

half exposed within a frozen hollow.

Enduring traces, where are the people?

Time erodes all, deeds now without substance.

The only sound, cypresses at the ruined mound;

and in shared lament, a compassionate wind rises.
